CAREER ASSESSMENT: FIND YOUR FUTURE!
Career Assessment is a formal, individualized assessment designed to determine a student’s unique interests, aptitudes, skills, values, work behaviors and transitional needs. The assessment matches the student’s interests and skills with potential career areas.
The best time for assessment is during the 9th or 10th grade year to enable informed decision-making regarding education, training, and employment options. (Students may complete assessment during 11th and 12th grade as well.)
Students are assessed using hands-on work samples, interest and value surveys, aptitude and ability assessments, career exploration activities, and observations.
The assessment can be tailored to last a few hours or a full school day. It is provided at no cost to parents, and takes place at Millstream Career Center.
After the assessment is completed, a report is prepared highlighting the results; listing training and educational options, and potential career areas. The Career Assessment Specialist will hold a conference with the student and any interested parties (parent, referral source, counselor, etc.) to go over the assessment results.
